Frequently asked questions
- What file format should I upload?
We only accept PDF files.
PDFs help prevent unwanted changes to your layout (spacing, fonts, page breaks) that can happen when Word/Excel/PowerPoint files are opened on different computers.
- I created my file in Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Publisher. How do I save it as a PDF?
Most programs let you export or save as PDF:
File → Save As → PDF, or
File → Print → choose “Print to PDF”.
After saving, open the PDF to double-check it looks correct.
- My document uses special fonts. Will they print correctly?
To keep fonts exactly as intended, your PDF should have fonts embedded.
If fonts aren’t embedded, another computer may replace them with a default font (like Arial), and your layout can change.
How to check embedded fonts (Adobe Acrobat Reader):
Press Ctrl + D
Go to the Fonts tab
Check whether each font says Embedded (or Embedded Subset)
- Will you check my document for spelling and grammar before printing?
No. We print what you submit as final.
For confidentiality, we don’t read or proofread your document—so please check spelling, grammar, and page order before uploading.
- Will my print look exactly like it does on screen?
Usually, but colours can look different on paper than on a screen. Screens use light (RGB) while printers use ink (CMYK).
If colour accuracy is important, prepare your file in CMYK and avoid relying on how it looks on your phone screen.
- How can I get the best colour print?
For best results:
Use high-resolution images;
Prepare artwork in CMYK (not RGB);
Avoid very dark backgrounds if text needs to be readable;
If exact brand colours matter, contact us before ordering.
- Why is there a white border around the page?
Most printers cannot print right to the edge of the paper, so a small 3–5mm white border is normal.
- What’s the difference between “Actual Size” and “Auto Scale”?
Actual Size (100%): prints at the exact size of your file. If your content is larger than the page, it can be cut off.
Fit to Paper Size & Printer Margins (Auto Scale): resizes your content to fit the selected paper size and the printer margins. Best for most users.
- Can I print double-sided?
Yes — select Two-sided (Duplex).
Note: duplex may not be available for some paper types and is not recommended for artwork/photos where perfect front/back alignment matters.
- Can I print some pages in colour and others in black & white?
Yes — choose Mixed (Black + Colour) if available for your selected settings.
- Can I print only certain pages?
Yes, but you’ll need to edit your PDF first (remove pages you don’t want) and upload the updated file.
- What does “Sorted (Collated)” mean?
Sorted prints complete sets in order (page 1 to the end, then repeats).
Best when you’re printing multiple copies for handouts.
- What does “Grouped (Uncollated)” mean?
Grouped prints the same pages together (all page 1, then all page 2, etc.).
Best if you’re assembling sets later.
- Can I use this service to print photos and images?
Yes. This service works well for quick and convenient photo printing, and you can choose 280gsm gloss photo paper for a better finish.
To get the best results:
Save your photos in a PDF;
Set the page size to A4 or A3;
If you want multiple photos per page, arrange them in one document before saving as PDF.
Important notes :
Trimming is not included;
Duplex is not recommended for photos/artwork (front/back may not align perfectly);
For premium photo-quality printing, contact our sister brand Optima on [email protected].
- Can I print invitations, tickets, flyers, brochures, etc. with this service?
Yes — as a quick solution, you can print these on A4 or A3 sheets.
Please note:
Trimming and professional finishing are not included;
If you need multiple items on one page (e.g., several tickets), you must arrange them yourself before saving as a PDF;
Duplex is not recommended for front/back designs - alignment may vary.
For premium printing and professional finishing, contact our sister brand Optima on [email protected].
- Do you offer hardbound dissertations?
Hardbound orders are handled in-store so you can review prints before binding. Hardbound covers are customised (front + spine), and typical turnaround is around 2 weeks from order date.
- Is there a file size limit?
Yes — PDFs must be under 30MB. If yours is bigger, reduce file size when exporting or split the file into smaller PDFs.
- How long will my order take?
Turnaround depends on quantity and finishing. If you have a deadline, mention it during checkout or contact us before ordering.
- What paper should I choose?
80gsm: everyday printing;
100/120gsm: nicer reports and handouts;
200/300gsm: thick card / certificates;
135/250gsm coated (silk): brighter colours;
280gsm gloss photo paper: photo prints;
Transparency sheets: overhead projectors (OHP).
